The people of Copenhagen have cast their votes – StreetMekka is The Best New Initiative in town! StreetMekka is our new 2.200 m2 facility for Street sports and culture activities. Since opening in October 2010, StreetMekka in Copenhagen has bloomed with members using the facility for street basket, futsal, breakdance, DJ’ing and street arts. And now it’s official: StreetMekka was what the city had been waiting for. Friday the 24th of June, the users on Berlingske Media’s city guide www.aok.dk crowned StreetMekka as The Best New Initiative of the year in Copenhagen. We see it as a major achievement to receive this award from the people of Copenhagen and it confirms the city has recognized our work and appreciates our new street sports facility. We would like to thank everyone who voted and all of the people that play ball and music, dance, paint and interact in StreetMekka.
